Paul Sieffert (French painter) 1874 - 1957
Paul Sieffert was a painter of nudes, portraits and an illustrator, born in Paris November 11, 1874. He was a pupil of Jean-Léon Gérôme, Gabriel Guay and Albert Maignan. He showed at the Paris Salon from 1894 onwards, He was awarded the Premier Grand Prix de Rome in 1902 and the Diploma of Honour at the 1937 Expo. He was a member of the League of French Artists and also sat on its vetting committee. He was made a Knight of the Légion d’honneur in 1931. He is also known for his stained glass, decorative compositions and exotic illustrations.
