Ellen Favorin (Finnish painter) 1853 - 1919
Favorin parents were chaplain Anders Abraham Favorin and Lovisa os Ingman. She went to the Finnish Art Society drawing school of 1870-1872 and 1873-1874, as well as the Stockholm Veistokoulu 1872 by Favorin then studied at the Norwegian Eilif Petersen under the direction of Munich from 1875 to 1876 and from 1884 to 1885, and under the leadership of A. Normann in Düsseldorf from 1878 to 1879. She also visited the Académie Julian in Paris from 1880 to 1882. Favorin participated in the Finnish artist's exhibitions in 1892, 1896, 1897 and 1899, she was known for landscape painting. She lived in Lohja, Finland in 1909-1919 and made several paintings of Lake Lohja beach scenery. Favorin died in 1919 her studio by fire in Lohja, Finland.
